Chemical Peels

These treatments use a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers. Chemical peels are helpful for individuals with facial blemishes, wrinkles, and uneven skin pigmentation. They also enhance appearance and self confidence. Chemical peels can soften acne facial scars and even control acne.

At Lantry Laser & Skin Care Center, we focus on mild-to-medium depth peels.

Alphahydroxy acids (AHAs), such as glycolic, lactic, or fruit acids are the mildest of the peel formulas and produce light peels. These types of peels can provide smoother, brighter-looking skin for people who do wish to use a heavier, medium-to-deep peel, such as a phenol or TCA peel. Chemical peels are used to treat fine surface wrinkling, areas of dryness, uneven pigmentation, and acne. They may cause stinging, redness, irritation and crusting; however, as the skin becomes healthier, these problems will be less frequent.

Chemical Peels
• Smooth rough, dry skin
• Improve texture of sun-damaged skin
• Aid in control of acne
• Can be mixed with bleaching agent to correct pigment problems
• Correct blotches caused by: sun exposure, birth-control pills, aging
• Soften wrinkles

No anesthesia is needed for the chemical peels provided at Lantry Laser & Skin Care Center. Only a slight stinging sensation is experienced during application.

How does a chemical peel work?

Your technician will apply the solution to your cleansed facial skin, a process that usually takes no more than 45 minutes. You may feel a stinging sensation as the peel solution is applied, but this feeling will quickly pass. No "after-peel" ointment or covering is required.

Multiple peels may be needed to obtain the desired results, and may be repeated every four to six weeks.

After treatment
After a chemical peel, it is common to experience some temporary flaking or scaling, redness and dryness of the skin. However, these conditions will disappear as the skin adjusts to treatment. The temporary redness, flaking, and dryness that you experience will not prevent you from working or engaging in your normal activities. A fresher and improved skin texture will result with continued treatments. Remember, protecting your skin from the sun is also important following these mild peels.

How will I look?
Improvements from our peels may be subtle at first. You may detect a healthier glow to your skin. With continued treatments, you will notice a general improvement in the texture of your skin. You can expect improvement - fewer fine wrinkles, fewer blemishes and more even-toned skin.

At Lantry Laser & Skin Care Center, we provide mild-to-medium depth peels. Our peels include:

The PCA Peel® Exfoliating Treatments
The PCA Peel® exfoliating treatments combine exfoliating acids, bleachers, and tyrosinase inhibitors. When combined, these components have a synergistic effect that will desquamate the surface of the skin while simultaneously lightening it. By layering multiple applications during the same treatment, varying superficial depths can be achieved according to the needs and goals of the patient. This procedure is appropriate for treating various skin disorders, including all types of hyper-pigmentation problems. PCA peels rejuvenate the skin and eliminate acneic conditions.
The PCA Peel with HQ & Resorcinol exfoliating treatment address the following conditions:

• Active/cystic acne
• Smoker's skin (asphyxiated; dry on surface, oily underneath)
• Oilier, thicker, resilient skin (not sensitive)
• Extremely sun-damaged skin
• Hand and arm treatment (photo damage)

Sensi Peel™ Exfoliating Treatment

Sensi Peel® exfoliating treatments are appropriate for all skin types, conditions, and sensitivities. They will effectively treat acne, pigment disorders, aging skin, smoker's skin, and photo-damaged skin. The treatment is ideal for super-sensitive skin types, as it has little or no stinging sensation. It targets patients that want gradual lightening, but instant tightening.

Glycolic Peel
The Glycolic Peel is a versatile tool that enables the technician to accelerate the results that can be achieved when using in conjuction with microdermabrasion and home care products.

This procedure especially appeals to clients who want to measurably improve their skin's appearance with a procedure that enables them to immediately continue with her normal activity. Consistent, dedicated use of an appropriate glycolic home care maintenance system is critical in order to achieve and maintain the desired result.
