Rosacea is a common skin disorder that causes redness and swelling
on the face. Often referred to as "adult acne," rosacea
may begin with a tendency to flush or blush easily, and progress
to persistent redness in the cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose, sometimes
spreading to ears, chest, and back. As the disorder progresses,
small blood vessels and tiny pimples appear on and around the reddened
area.
Lantry Laser & Skin Care Center has a variety of techniques
and lasers that treat rosacea. The treatment delivers pulses of
light to the dermis, which stimulates the collagen. Not only does
this treatment target the dilated capillaries commonly associated
with rosacea, but it can also reduce signs of aging, fine lines,
freckles and irregular pigmentation. The laser's intense pulsed
light diminishes flushing or redness of the face, successfully treating
dilated blood vessels and redness without injuring the surrounding
healthy skin.
Four to six treatments will improve redness and individual blood
vessels.
