Laser Vein Removal

Dr. Lantry’s advanced laser treatments deliver precise and customized doses of energy to the targeted vein in a series of brief pulses. The small spot of laser light travels through the skin and is absorbed by the blood within the vein on the basis of its color. The resulting heat coagulates or clots the blood and destroys the function of the vein. Over time, the body absorbs the vein, and it disappears from sight.

Spider veins on the face tend to disappear at the time of treatment. They sometimes reappear, however, and may take anywhere from two weeks to two months to fully disappear. On the lower half of the body or on the legs, veins may require up to one to three months to completely disappear.

After each treatment, you will see a significant improvement in the appearance of facial veins and a marked improvement in leg veins. An average of one to three treatments may be required at one-to-three month intervals.

Most patients tolerate the treatments well. Others experience mild discomfort, not unlike a small rubber band snapping against the skin. Treatments do not generally require sedatives, pain medication, or local anesthesia. Numbing cream is available at an additional charge.
